Shivamogga: A woman in Shivamogga, Karnataka, was the victim of a gold chain snatching incident in her home. A man, approximately 35 years old, approached her residence in Ganapathi Layout, Vidyanagar, under the pretext of inquiring about land for sale. Upon being told there was no land available, he forcibly entered the house.
The assailant specifically targeted Nagarajappa’s wife, Rajeshwari, who was unwell and confined to her bed. He violently snatched the gold chain from her neck, pushed Nagarajappa aside, and then fled the scene. In an audacious move, the thief locked the house door from the outside as he made his escape.
The stolen gold chain weighs 40 grams and is valued at approximately ₹4 lakh. Following the incident, a formal complaint has been filed and a case registered at the Kote Police Station in Shivamogga, initiating an investigation into the theft.
