Shikaripura: A Shikaripura Bandh has been called today to protest against the Kutralli Toll Gate. Various organizations, including merchants and farmers, have already declared their support for the bandh.
The toll gate has been constructed on the State Highway passing through Kutralli, between Shikaripura and Shiralakoppa. The Toll Gate Virodhi Horata Samiti has been protesting for a year, alleging that the toll is burdening farmers, employees, laborers, and students. The bandh is being observed because the government failed to remove the toll gate despite continuous protests.
How Will the Bandh Protest Proceed?
The protest rally will begin with prayers at the Sri Huchcharayaswamy Temple in Shikaripura town in the morning. The procession will pass through In front of the PLD Bank, Taluk Office, Doddapete, Shiralakoppa Circle, Shivamogga Circle. The rally will conclude in front of the Taluk Office, where a protest meeting will be held. The struggle committee expects at least 5,000 people to gather.

Mobilization Efforts
To ensure the success of the Shikaripura Bandh, the Struggle Committee members met with merchants, farmers and students, urging their support. They distributed pamphlets and appealed house-to-house and shop-to-shop throughout the taluk. Most organizations have already declared their support.
