SHIVAMOGGA: Members of the Kuruba community staged a fiery protest in front of the Shivappa Nayaka statue here, demanding that Siddaramaiah be allowed to continue as the Chief Minister of Karnataka for a full five-year term.

Agitating under the banner of various community organizations, including the Kanaka Yuva Sene and Kurubara Yuva Sene, protestors expressed their anger by burning tyres and shouting slogans in support of the Chief Minister.

High Command Urged to Reconsider

Community leaders highlighted Siddaramaiah’s role in unifying the AHINDA (minorities, backward classes, and Dalits) vote bank, which they credited for bringing the Congress party to power in the state. Expressing strong opposition to any moves by the party high command to replace him, they urged the leadership to back down from its decision.

“The backward classes are deeply opposed to any move to remove Siddaramaiah from the CM post. The AHINDA community voted for Congress because of his leadership. He has provided a scam-free administration and successfully implemented the five guarantee schemes. The high command must let him complete his five-year tenure.”
