Shikaripura : In a theft case at the Mahishi Mutt in Tirthahalli, the police shot the accused in the leg. The incident occurred when the accused attempted to attack police personnel who had arrived to arrest him.
Police from the Malur station in Tirthahalli had gone to arrest the accused, Srinivas alias Seena (25), near Tank Bund in Shikaripur town. During this operation, Srinivas tried to assault police constable Santhosh.
In response, Malur Station PSI Kumar fired a warning shot in the air. However, Srinivas again attempted to attack Constable Santhosh. Given the situation, PSI Kumar shot him in the left leg. District Superintendent of Police G.K. Mithun Kumar informed the media about the incident via WhatsApp.
