Shivamogga: Residents have expressed outrage against officials for failing to provide adequate drinking water supply for the past week. They staged a protest, holding empty pots and buckets.

The protest took place in Sahyadri Nagar, near Sominakoppa, and involved women, children, and other citizens.

Locals’ Allegations

Locals allege that instead of the old system, a 24×7 water supply scheme has been implemented without informing them. As a result, they have been facing a severe water shortage for the past week. They claim that despite multiple attempts to contact the concerned officials, they have been unreachable and have not received any proper response.

Supply of Contaminated, Foul-Smelling Water

In a separate incident, residents of Kenchappa Layout, near Vinobanagar, have alleged that they received contaminated water supply today. They expressed outrage that the water had a foul odor and was unfit for consumption.
