Police shoot accused in the leg in Bhadravathi

Bhadravathi: Police shot a suspect in the leg who allegedly attempted to attack them with a country-made pistol and a dagger. The bullet fired from the gun of New Town Police Station Sub-Inspector pierced the left leg of the accused, Nasru alias Nasrulla.

The incident occurred when the police went to arrest Nasrulla, who had absconded in a case. It is alleged that when the police went to Nasrulla’s location this morning, he launched an attack.

Attempted attack with pistol and dagger

Old Town Police Station PSI Chandrashekhar had raided on Monday and taken four accused into custody along with 1.4 kg of ganja. Nasru alias Nasrulla had absconded. Today, when they went to arrest him, he attempted to attack the police personnel with a country-made pistol and a dagger, according to information provided to the media via WhatsApp by District Superintendent of Police G.K. Mithun Kumar.

Nasrulla was working as a welder. He is a resident of Anwar Colony in Bhadravathi. There are five cases against him. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the New Town Police Station. It has been stated in a release that the country-made pistol and dagger in Nasru’s possession have been seized.
