Bhadravathi: Around 30 passengers were injured after a private bus fell off the Kagehalla bridge near Veerapura on Monday. The bus was traveling from Channagiri to Bhadravathi. Fortunately, no deaths were reported in the accident.
The bus had just filled fuel at a petrol pump near Kagehalla and was heading towards Bhadravathi. The driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to plunge off the bridge. The injured passengers, including women and children, were immediately shifted to hospitals in Bhadravathi and Shivamogga for treatment.
Passengers alleged that the driver’s reckless speed and negligence caused the crash. Some passengers claimed that the driver was racing with a KSRTC bus since leaving Channagiri. After the accident, the driver and the conductor reportedly fled the spot.
