Condemning a controversial statement made by BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra, Youth Congress workers pasted posters late Friday night on the shutters and walls of the District BJP Office situated on Deendayal Road. Additionally, posters were placed on the compound wall of Vijayendra’s residence, ‘Maitradevi’, located near the Bypass Road in the city.

Slogans Targeted at BJP

The posters pasted by the Youth Congress carried the message: “Congress Makkalu Gandhijiya Makkalu, BJP Makkalu – Kalnan Makkalu” (Congress children are Gandhiji’s children, BJP children are thieves’ children).

The poster war stems from a recent press conference in Davanagere where B.Y. Vijayendra reportedly made a derogatory remark against Congress leaders using singular language. Although Vijayendra retracted his statement following strong protests from the Congress party, the Youth Congress initiated a widespread poster campaign.
