ATNC Evening College Emerges Cricket Champion; Konandur College Secures Runner-Up Spot

SHIVAMOGGA: Acharya Tulsi National Commerce Evening College (ATNCC) won the cricket tournament at the NES Sports Meet 2026, organized by the National Education Society (NES) at the JNNCE College ground on Sunday. Sharavathi First Grade College, Konandur, secured the runner-up position.

List of Winners Across Various Disciplines

In the men’s volleyball competition, JNNCE Transport Department secured first place, followed by NES College of Advanced Studies in second. National Pharmacy College won the shuttle badminton tournament, with the JNNCE team finishing second. In the tug-of-war (men), Acharya Tulsi Commerce College claimed the top spot, while National Public School took second.

In the women’s category, the JNNCE team won the throwball competition, with National Public School (B team) as runners-up. In the women’s tug-of-war, JNNCE ‘A’ team and JNNCE ‘B’ team secured first and second places respectively. National Public School won the shuttle badminton title, followed by Kasturba PU College. H.S. Rudrappa PU College stood first in Tennikoit, while Kamala Nehru Women’s College secured the second position.

Additionally, athletics events including 100m and 200m sprints, long jump, shot put, and chess were conducted. Recreational games were also organized for participants of all age groups.

Staff Participation in Marathon and Parade

The NES staff members participated in a 4-kilometer marathon to promote unity. Starting from the NES Stadium, staff members across various age groups took part with enthusiasm. More than 1,800 employees from 36 educational institutions and the administrative office participated in a march past to honor the guests.

NES Secretary S.N. Nagaraja, Co-Secretary Dr. P. Narayan, Directors T.R. Ashwathanarayana Shetty, Ananthadatta, H.C. Shivakumar, Sitalakshmi, Sudhir, Academic Administrative Officer A.N. Ramachandra, and JNNCE Dean of Research Dr. S.V. Satyanarayana were present.
