Boy from Tirthahalli Succumbs to KFD Infection in Manipal

Tirthahalli: An eight-year-old boy infected with Monkey Fever (Kyasanur Forest Disease – KFD) passed away last night. The young boy from Dattarajapura village in Tirthahalli, who was undergoing treatment, died at a hospital in Manipal.

The deceased has been identified as Rachith. Both Rachith and his sister had tested positive for KFD and were admitted to the J.C. Hospital in Tirthahalli. After four days of treatment, Rachith was shifted to the Manipal hospital. Despite 12 days of medical care, he breathed his last on Thursday night.

Rachith was the son of Ramu and Savitha, a couple from Dattarajapura. He was a second-grade student at a local school.
